Description

The NEW TEC-905B speaker selector with volume control will allow you to use two stereos with up to 10 speakers (5 pairs) placed around the house, restaurant, office, warehouse etc. You can turn each set of speakers on and off, and adjust the volume for each pair as well. The input for the TEC-905B comes from your stereos, amps, receivers, etc. This just means you take the speaker wires from the back of your stereo, amp, etc. and plug them into the either input terminals on the back of the TEC-905B. Each speaker pair has independent rotary volume control. Volume adjustment and impedance matching is accomplished through internal heavy-duty multi-trapped transformers for each speaker. This allows complete, independent control of each pair with maximum efficiency and virtually no generation of heat. The built-in precision auto impedance correction and overload protection circuits will safe-guard your amplifiers and speakers from damage due to excessively low impedance when all 10 speakers are playing at the same time. Rear gold plated color coded professional grade banana socket connections accept up to 12AWG wires. Also has headphone input with individual volume control as well. Features: Each pair of speakers can be alternatively switched to either amplifier A or B Frequency response: 20 Hz to 20 kHz High efficiency transformer based designed, fully automatic amplifier impedance protection Compatible impedance with 4 - 16 ohm speakers 100W RMS, 200W peak per channel power handling Individual rotary volume controls Master ON/OFF switch connects and disconnects the signal distribution from the amplifiers to the speakers Dimensions: 2.25"H x 15.5"L x 8.5"W Weight : 12 lb Headphone input with volume control Pre-printed zone and equipment list label included for easy speaker connection identification Sturdy metal enclosure Passive design, no power required

5Quality product, works well  Oct 25, 2012 By Purchased Product
I purchased this product because I needed a way to independently control speakers in multiple rooms at a central location. I did not want to mount volume controls on the wall of each room as I do not need to frequently change the volume level.

This item does not require an additional power source, so it does not need to be plugged in if it is not going to be located near the receiver/amp source or near a receptacle. It simply distributes the incoming signal from up to two different receivers or amps. All five speakers can be set to the same receiver or amp source at the same time or a combination of receiver or amp sources with no issues with impedance.

This item is solid and well made. It's similar to a commercial quality product. All of the connections can utilize banana plugs or the wires can be screwed directly to the posts. I would recommend spending a little extra money and purchase banana plugs that screw on to the end of your wires and plugging them into the connections for a much cleaner install. There are many connections to be made and although there is enough space, the wiring could become cluttered behind the product when attaching all of the wires directly to the posts.

A previous post commented on how the volume controls click into position as you raise or lower the volume instead of a continuous, smooth movement. This is no issue at all and actually works well for setting the speaker levels at exactly the same levels from a distribution perspective.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the product and would purchase it again.

5This Speaker Selector Rocks !!!  Jul 19, 2012 By Rafael M. Amezaga Jr.
I'd been searching for one for months / years. This one is perfect. The pro-style hook ups in the rear make it way easy to plug in pairs and pairs of speakers... Even w/ 12g speaker wire!!! I couldn't be happier. Well maybe if the individual volume knobs didn't click with each turn... but that would be just nit pickin'.

5This IS what you're looking for  Feb 20, 2013 By fastrider
After a TON of searching around online for things that will work this was it. It's a non-powered volume controlling splitter for your sound system. I installed two of these in a large business with ease. We have the outdoor speakers running at full volume allowance (due to the freeway running by in front of the store front)and the interior speakers running at minimal and next to minimal allowance and adjusted the single standard household amplifier to the desired minimum volume for the interior speakers. I have 8 speakers running in two separate wings of the store and we have plenty of room to add 4 more sets of speakers (right and left channels) to each wing of the store.

We were looking at a similar setup by Niles but that was $1,200 so we're VERY happy with this purchase. I'm going to be setting up another store sometime soon... I WILL be buying more.

4Great splitter for the price  Dec 26, 2012 By mmmmmmm
So far so good. I have had this product for a few months. Works fine at splitting my speakers - so far I have four sets connected.

5Well worth the money.  Sep 18, 2013 By JeepTJ12
This is high quality with high end terminals. I suggest this product over the Europe style connections and push tabs.
